Terry
Weeks was born in Rutherford County. Upon graduation
from Kittrell High School, he attended Middle Tennessee
State University, where he earned a B.S. in Social Studies
and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. For 15 years,
he taught Tennessee history and world geography in the
Rutherford County school system. In 1987, Dr. Weeks was
named Tennessee Teacher of the Year. In 1988, he was
selected National Teacher of the Year. He completed his
doctorate degree at Vanderbilt University in 1993 and was
inducted into the Tennessee Teachers Hall of Fame in 1994.
Currently, he is a professor in the Department of
Educational Leadership at Middle Tennessee State
University.
Bob
Womack is a native Tennessean. He was born in Bedford
County, attended its public schools, and later returned to
teach in Central High School in Shelbyville. He received
his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State
University in Murfreesboro, and his graduate degrees from
Peabody College in Nashville. He is the author of The
Echo of Hoofbeats, a history of the Tennessee
Walking Horse and Call Forth the Mighty Men,
a history of ordinary men and women in the Civil War. At
the present time, he is a member of the Department of
Educational Leadership at Middle Tennessee State
University.
