About the Author

Bonnie McDonald grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Mountain View High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology and journalism from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She had the opportunity to meet many wonderful Oklahomans while working as a newspaper reporter and photographer at Woodward and later at Lawton. As a writer, editor and photographer in the Communications Section of the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Bonnie traveled thoughout the state gathering information for stories about education. After earning a master's degree in community college education and journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma, she has worked on various freelance projects. Any free time is spent on genealogy and history.
