Authors
Anne
Campbell is a faculty member at the LSU Laboratory
School, serving as a master teacher and a middle school
team leader. She has taught social studies in Louisiana
for more than twenty years, in East Baton Rouge and
Bossier parishes. She has presented a number of workshops
throughout the state as a member of the Louisiana Writing
Project. She worked with the committee of teachers to
develop the Louisiana Social Studies Standards. She has
also served as a curriculum writer for both state and
local projects. Ms. Campbell earned a B.A. and an M.Ed.
from Northwestern State University and has completed
additional postgraduate work at Louisiana Tech and
Louisiana State University.
Dr.
Wilson Marston is a native Louisianian. He was born
and raised in Baton Rouge, where he attended public
schools and Louisiana State University. He taught in
grades 4-8 in the East Baton Rouge Parish school system
for 12 years. After completing his doctorate at the
University of Virginia, he returned to LSU as an assistant
professor in the College of Education. Dr. Marston teaches
courses in elementary and middle school social studies,
with emphasis on integrated thematic instruction and
creative thinking. He also teaches and advises in gifted
education.
