About the Authors
Anne Campbell has had extensive experience as a Louisiana educator. She taught social studies in Louisiana for more than twenty years, both in East Baton Rouge Parish and as a faculty member at the LSU Laboratory School. Among her varied professional activities, she has served as a statewide trainer for the Louisiana Writing Project. When the Louisiana Social Studies Standards were developed, Ms. Campbell was one of the two chief writers. More recently, she served as the educational consultant for Louisiana Public Broadcasting's award-winning video series Louisiana: A History and wrote the accompanying teacher resources. She continues to serve as a consultant in professional development for Louisiana teachers. Ms. Campbell earned a B.A. and an M.Ed. from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and has completed additional postgraduate work at Louisiana Tech and Louisiana State University.
